What to Expect from the Lamp Experience

This experience is designed for anyone curious about glass art, whether you have previous experience or are trying it for the first time. You will work closely with Peter or Andrew, who will guide you through each stage of the process. Their hands-on instruction ensures you feel confident and inspired as you create.

Step 1: Choosing Your Colours

The journey begins with selecting the colours that will define your lamp. You can browse our glass showroom for inspiration. This step allows you to express your personal style and set the tone for your lamp’s final look. Whether you prefer bold, bright colours or soft, muted tones, the choice is yours.

Step 2: Blowing and Shaping the Glass

Next, you will step into the workshop where Peter or Andrew will demonstrate the process of making, involving adding colour, blowing and shaping. You will then be guided through each stage. This part of the experience is both exciting and challenging, as the glass cools quickly and requires precise movements. Your glassmaker is there to step in at any moment should you need assistance.

Step 3: Cooling and Finishing

After shaping your lamp, it is placed in the kiln overnight, to slowly cool. The next day, your lamp will be carefully packaged with the base, ready to be taken home.
